Structured flying
As a Maverick Pilot Development student, you will gain real career experience by operating under the same structure as if you were flying a commercial aircraft with flight plans and dispatch. Our students can expect to fly actual routes with clear beginning and end points and expected departure and arrival times. Routes are logged as cross-country. Given the structured nature of our program, we believe our students will be a step ahead of other pilots in the field.

Jonathan orenstein
For nearly 40 years, Jonathan Ornstein has served as chief executive of multiple regional and international airlines. Ornstein most recently served as Chairman and CEO of Mesa Airlines for 28 years, the longest serving CEO in aviation history. Prior to Mesa Airlines, Ornstein served as Chairman and CEO of Virgin Express with Richard Branson, Chairman and CEO of Continental Express, and Senior VP of Continental Airlines. Prior to that, Ornstein served with Mesa Airlines for seven years in various capacities including EVP of Planning and President of its subsidiary, Westair Airlines. In his free time, Ornstein is an avid motorcyclist and races vintage cars.
david siegel
David Siegel is a seasoned airline industry leader, currently serving as Chairman of Atlas Air and Vice Chairman of Spirit Airlines. Siegel additionally advises global investments as a Senior Advisor to Apollo Global Management. His executive leadership history includes serving as Chairman of Sun Country Airlines, CEO of Frontier Airlines, and President and CEO of US Airways, giving him a wide-ranging perspective on both legacy and low-cost carrier models. Siegel is an active big-wave surfer and enjoys participating in Civil War reenactments.
